From the Private, Personal Diary of Noelle Frost
Barely had any time to get used to being a Storm Caller, and I'm running out of town. Mom called to remind me of her annual shopping trip to London, and if I had the time, did I want to meet her there? Well, duh!
I'm heading out tomorrow, spending a few days shopping with her, up and down Oxford and Regent Streets, hitting the boutiques on Jermyn and Saville Row... you know, just the basics.
Afterwards, I told Mom I'd come home with her for a little bit -- I can't believe I haven't been back to Base Camp in over a year! I know I got to see Mom and Dad in Iceland a few months ago, but that's not home.
I mean, well, I guess Base Camp's not really home anymore. This is. But still, the Arctic's where I grew up. Where it all started. If I'm really lucky, Dad'll let me take one of the sleds out and I can spend a night under the stars, under the aurora.
I'm almost more excited about that than about the shopping. Almost.
I only wish Kid could come up with me. We talked about it, briefly, but I didn't really give him enough notice. Plus, he's a warm-blooded Southern boy, and I really do need to get him adjusted to the cold before he meets Mom and Dad. Hee.
Gotta go -- still a million things to do before I leave.
Ciao!
N.
