From the Private, Personal Diary of Noelle Frost

Dear Diary –

So this crime-fighting thing seems to be somethin' I've got a knack for. Leastaways, that's what it seems like. I spoke to Mom and Popsicle last night after I got back from a patrol of the neighborhood, and blathered on for like 15 minutes before givin' them a chance to tell me about stuff what's going on at Base Camp. They're pulling up some exciting ice cores, and said that Sergei's been a huge help, and was I sure I had to be all the way south in Paragon City, and couldn't I reconsider my decision to leave home, and wouldn't I give Sergei another chance?

Ick! No. No way.

I think they're being a little blind to the facts of the matter. I didn't just give Sergei the cold shoulder. I mean, I did, but literally. Icy cold. And since I left Base Camp up North, I'm finding I can do all sorts of other things, too. It's pretty cool.

And there's a use for me here. The longer I hang out in Paragon City, the more certain I am that I belong here, and not up on the Circle. Here, I'm not just a glorified lab tech, helping Mom and Popsicle with their experiments. I signed on with a local group, the Storm Knights, and got myself all sorts of trained and stuff. Seems that Aurora Borealis hit me with all sorts of wacky mutations, and I'm only figuring them out in bits and pieces. Like last night, ok? I was sparring with these dudes and I could just... like... knock them back. I mean, whoa. At least, I hope it's a cool effect of the Aurora, and not the stankified nature of my self.

But there's evidence to prove I'm not all that stanky (or skanky. But that's another issue altogether, 'cause I think I might be). At least, I think that's what I'm sensing. Growing up in an ice-bound community of scientists and only one other kid approaching my age wasn't the best education for regular boy-girl interaction, ya know? More on that later.

Anyway, I'm heading to bed soon. Got another big day of crime fighting tomorrow! Though, I have to say, every night I remember my other favorite thing down here: TV. Man!! If it weren't for my innate sense of responsibility (thanks Mom!) and determination to be taken seriously by the Baron and the rest of the Knights, I think I could just sit in front of the TV for hours! They've got these makeover shows, and there's this drama about a bunch of kids in California, and another one I'm seeing in repeats, I think, about a girl who's kinda like me – a crime fighter – 'cept she fights vampires and other things that go bump in the night, and not just street gangs and mobs. Though I've seen some pretty wild things on the streets 'round here...

Anyway, maybe I'll just do a little channel surfing before getting some shut-eye. Ciao!
