From the Private, Personal Diary of Noelle Frost

Dear Diary -

It's been a couple of days, I guess. Don't really know where to start. I guess... well, the Shadow Shard thing didn't go quite as hoped. Jason said we made a nice big mess of Crey's plans, and he was able to yank out the wires and stuff that they were using to control him, so that's all good and back to normal. Honestly, if I never go back to that place it will be too soon. I mean, I'm sure there's some nice areas to it -- I've flipped through Erin's photo album of some of what she's seen there, and it does seem nice in parts -- but I'm not rushing off to explore it anytime soon.

Anyway, that finally got taken care of, and then Janet Kellum over in Founder's had a lead on the Countess Crey herself she needed me to track down. So last night, with Kid and Jason and Scorp and Shock and Lady Seethe of the Knights (who I don't get to spend enough time with -- I wonder if there's anything new going on at the Castle lately? I should stop by there sometime, say hi to folks) and a new Freedom Phalanx recruit named Chaos Girl, I headed to the Hollows to a cave system where the Countess was hiding out, waiting for plastic surgery to escape Paragon. And, well, we stopped her. God only know for how long, but if the woman's capable of cutting herself up to escape the law, and she's got enough lawyers and all on staff to attempt to prosecute the good guys for taking her in... well, let's just say I'm not all that confident that she'll be spending all that much time in the Zig.

And speaking of folks in the Zig, I had a nice chat last night with Handsome Devil, my partner in the joint Alliance/F.O.R.C.E. project Redemption. I know I've been warned about him -- Ulric wasn't sure I should even be teamed with him -- but he's been nothing but a gentleman each and every time I've spoken to him. I was talking to him last night about Kid, and dancing, and shopping -- about all sorts of stuff. He didn't sound like a criminal, is I guess what I'm trying to say. But then, who does?

I have to remember to call Agent Seven about picking up whatever thing it is he has for me, and check in with Ulric about when our official meet-up is going to be.

Hopefully, it's not too soon. Kid promised me a real, official date, like with dinner and everything! He even mentioned dancing... and not just around explosions. I want to get a new outfit for it -- a real dress, maybe. Something long and slinky -- I have the perfect idea for it in my head, but I don't know if Carson has anything like it at Icon. I may have to do some digging, find a seamstress who can whip something up for me. I wonder if Kessa would know of one? I should give her a call.

In the meantime, I finally bought that motorcyle jacket I've had my eye on for months. I know, I know, it's crazy to do it when it's just so damn hot, but I waited long enough, and damn it -- I wanted it! It's very sleek -- and goes amazingly well with the leather pants I bought too. Because really, I was going to wear it with shorts? As if!

Ta!
