Dear Diary -
I got promoted!! I can't even -- I mean -- I'm just -- wow! Shiny! I've been doing a little happy dance every time I think of it since the Baron inducted me at the Storm Knights meeting in Kings Row.
It's all just so, so, so encouraging. I mean, I feel like I'm making a difference, but more than that, I feel that people I know -- people I like and respect -- have noticed.
All those many months ago, when I first met the Baron and Streak, and everyone else -- I just never would have guessed that I'd be here. An officer. A Storm Caller.
As Silent Sammy would say, Glee!
The rest of last night -- wow, I think it just passed in a blur. After the induction, the Baron lead a full team of Knights (plus Nora, who I totally have to get back at for her inappropriate comments to me about my boss!) to rescue Statesman from Tyrant. Which we did, handily. Afterwards, the big man even posed for a picture with us before flying right back off to duty.
After a few more missions, putting the bad guys away where they belong with Hype and Syn, and Kin, and some remaining Knights like Streak and Professor McLaren (who it's so good to see out and about again), I headed over to Galaxy City for Fixette's "Questions from the Couch" discussion. She'd been talking about it earlier in the evening, when she helped us clean out a nest of madmen, so I was glad to make it. Even though Reese told me it was over, just because I was a little late. It wasn't, so I got to answer my thought-provoking question, and hear what other folks thought about things.
Reese. Sigh. It was good to finally see him again -- I realized I hadn't even talked to him since he rescued me from the House of Cards, so it was weird and awkward at first, but by the end of the night, we were chatting just like always. Of course, he totally embarassed me at Fix's thing. I have to remember not to say things like "bite me" to him, because he totally will. And in public, too!
Oh, oh, oh! And I almost forgot! I learned a secret! And I'm so, so happy for them.
That's it for now -- I have to run over to Icon and meet with one of the newer Knights I met last night, Dragon's Rose. Rose, I guess, is what she goes by. Very nice and polite, and when she asked about going shopping, how could I resist?
