From the Private, Personal Diary of Noelle Frost
It's a been a while, hasn't it? Sorry about that. Things just get away from me sometimes, ya know? But, let's see... what's new?
Well -- and I'm grinning as I write this -- Kid's and my date was wonderful. So, so, so... I just don't have the words. I feel like a grown-up with him, ya know? Someone else commented on that as well. Like, I can be the silly teenager all the rest of the time, but somehow, with Kid, I want to be more than just that for him. We still joke and laugh, but I guess it's everything else that there is between us that makes me feel more mature. That, and knowing that he trusts me to lead a team, which I did last night against Infernal.
Man, what is it about these demons from alternate dimensions!? No sooner had we put him down, with help from Mal, Super Villian (interesting name there), Mystic Hunter, Puck Fair (my new nickname for the Bunny), Captain Atomyc (nice guy), Task Force (a little prone to just run into the action, but that's what he does best), and Agent Twelve (like a female Seven), that Kid got a call that he was loose AGAIN! Something about different dimensions being on different timelines, or something. Anyway, we headed back into the portal, grabbed Barrie, who was still shining off her new Hero of the City badge, and took him down again.
Actually, I should clarify. After a long, tough battle against countless demons and a big summoning altar/portal thingie, Infernal managed to take out all the guys -- Kid, Cap A, and Task Force -- and the girls and I (Barrie, Twelve, Puck and I) finished him off. Girl power!!! It wasn't easy, but we did it.
Afterwards, going up against some leather-clad chick named Dominatrix with a severly damaged fashion sense just wasn't much of a challenge.
So, feeling like we got something accomplished, Kid and I decided to take off for a nice, long weekend away. We're gonna leave right after the FOUND concert tonight.
There's another island off the coast, called Block Island, that somehow managed to avoid all the fallout from the Rikti invasion and the feuding villians that have overrun the area around Paragon. We've taken a little cottage for five days just steps from the beach and Old Harbour, and I'm packing nothing but a couple of pairs of shorts, sandals, and my bathing suits. We even put our comms on "silent" mode, so hopefully, nothing big will come up that we need to handle. I know there's more than enough amazing heroes in the Alliance to take care of anything, so I'm pretty darn confident we won't even be missed.
Now, I've got to run and grab a few more things -- sunblock, leave-in conditioner, and a book to read -- before Kid picks me up. Be back on Wednesday!
Ciao, N.
